  • We love what is taught about Jesus Christ and His mission for all mankind. The time of the meeting also works really well for our family. The kids love going to their classes.

  • We were welcomed right away when we started attending this church. We love learning about Jesus Christ and about God's plan. This church is very family oriented.

I attended the Decatur congregation ("ward" in LDS lingo) for over 5 months in 2001/2002, after moving to Texas as a life-long member of the LDS Church. Before attending, be sure to learn about the foundational truth claims of the LDS Church by doing a little Googling for search terms like "Mormon think" and "CES letter". Knowledge will be the key to understanding and enjoying your visit. The Decatur congregation is just one of thousands around the globe, owned and operated by one of the wealthiest multinational corporate religions in the world. It is a non-traditional Christian faith that promotes family values, but also asserts unique truth claims at the exclusion of other Christian faiths. Sunday meetings take place during a 3-hour block, and tend to be a bit bland since all sermons ("talks" in LDS lingo) and lessons are prepared and given by members without any professional training--an approach that often leads to members repeating myths, urban legends, and misinformation about their own faith, due to a general lack of information and disinformation efforts by the central leadership in Salt Lake City, Utah.
